Ressler Mill Announces 6th Grade Science Program

ressler_mill.gifLancaster Science Factory recently announced an educational opportunity created by the Ressler Mill Foundation for all 6th grade classes in Lancaster County.  It is part of the Science Factory’s mission to make the Factory accessible to all youth in the County and the Ressler Mill Foundation 6th Grade Science Program helps achieve that goal. We thank the Foundation for their vision and commitment to education in Lancaster County.

The following briefly outlines the program and explains how 6th grade classes may participate:


 PROGRAM NAME:  Ressler Mill Foundation 6th Grade Science Program.

 PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The Ressler Mill Foundation has created a grant which will pay the admission of every 6th grade class in Lancaster County, visiting the Lancaster Science Factory during the calendar year 2008.

 WHO QUALIFIES:  Every 6th grade class in Lancaster County including public and private schools, and homeschoolers.

 WHERE:     The Grant covers 6th grade class visits to the Lancaster Science Factory, 454 New Holland Ave., Lancaster, PA 

 COST: 
1.  Admission for 6th grade students, visiting as a class, will be paid by the Ressler Mill Foundation.  Teachers and chaperones are free, as a part of the normal admission policy of the Lancaster Science Factory.  Our normal admission fee of $4.50 per student will apply for students in the group, other than those in 6th grade.  Individual 6th grade students, not visiting with a class, will be charged the standard admission fee of $5.00.

2.  The scheduling and cost of transportation to the Science Factory is the responsible of the visiting class. No funding for transportation will be provided.

 TEACHERS/CHAPERONES: 
In addition to the class teacher(s), one chaperone is required for every six students visiting.

 WHEN: The program will cover class visits to the Science Factory during calendar year 2008.

 ENROLLMENT: Any 6th grade class in Lancaster County eligible to enroll. You may enroll after you have confirmed that you will be able to provide transportation and chaperones. Once you have secured transportation, teachers and chaperones; you may schedule your visit by contacting lsfedcoordinator@gmail.com
