Opening

HOOOOOray! The Lancaster Science Factory has scheduled Opening Day for Tuesday, January 22, 2008: from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Over 40 interactive exhibits have been installed in the 11,000 sq. ft. main exhibit hall which was once an old factory building. Exhibits are arranged in ten exhibit “clusters” including: Structural Engineering, Air Power, Conductors and Insulators, Electricity, Light and Vision, Newton’s Laws, and Fluid Dynamics.   

The Science Factory will be using the first part of January to test exhibits with school groups and make sure everything is working correctly, prior to opening on the 22nd. A grand opening celebration will be scheduled in the Spring. (More: admission, membership, hours of operation, parking)  

Location:
The Science Factory is located at 454 New Holland Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17602 (Where Plum Street joins New Holland Avenue.  

Hours of Operation:

September – June:
Tuesday – Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm. Sunday  Noon to 5:00pm. Closed Monday.

July – August:
Monday – Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm. Sunday  Noon to 5:00pm.  

Admission :
$5.00 Children 12 and under, accompanied by an adult.
$7.00 for adults.
Special pricing is available for field trips. 

Membership:
Five membership options are available: family, Family Plus, Grandparent, Senior and Individual.  

Parking:
Free parking for Science Center visitors is located directly across the street from the Science Factory. Look for signs.
